This is the day where a lot of people are fooled just for the heck of it.
Yup, April Fools day is upon us, and I bet a lot of naughty pranksters out there are getting ready on doing the “ultimate prank” on their friends come April 1.
so what is the history behind this April Fools’ day?
Actually, there is no clear origins of the annually celebrated April Fools’ day.
According to some experts (ehem..wikipedia and other sources
), The April Fools’ Day was an effect of the change in the calendar imposed by Pope Gregory XIII. Before, Europeans celebrated New Year’s day on April 1. However, Pope Gregory XIII passed the new Gregorian calendar, changing the celebrated New Year’s day from April 1 to January 1. A lot of Europeans either did not believe the change or declined to follow the change. so, a lot of people fooled their colleagues on celebrating New Year’s day on April 1.
Well, what’s important is we must welcome this awesome day with cheer and caution. Be careful when you accept something “good” on April 1, you might not realize that theĀ “joke” is on you, literally.
Before I end this post, let me share you this quick video regarding pranks. It’s an old video but oh well, it still cracks me up every time I watch this! Enjoy!
Advanced Happy April Fools’ Day!
