The Risk of having a Hot Laptop on your Lap.
Well, this will definitely go contrary to what “Lap” is in “Laptop”.
According to one Yahoo article recently published online, there is a risk of placing your laptop on your lap, especially when its hot. Although the results are not that scary, the after effects of having a hot laptop on your lap may be permanent.
According to the article, a hot laptop on your lap may cause “toasted skin syndrome“, an unusual-looking mottled skin condition caused by longterm heat exposure. One law student from Virginia, USA sought treatment regarding her unusual skin condition. Dr. Kimberley Salkey, who treated the young woman, was stumped on what the skin condition was, until she learned of her habit of placing her laptop on her lap for six (6) hours.
Although it does not result to any burns, it may cause permanent skin darkening.
