CarloBlogg Online (3.0) is a blog made by Carlo Vincent Balicas. CarloBlogg Online is a blog that focuses on Blogging, Blogging tips, as well as his random ramblings about technology, internet, food, happenings, life, and anything in between.

Carlo Balicas was born on 1987 in Edwin Andrews Airbase Hospital in Zamboanga city, Philippines. He lived there with his family for quite some time due to the fact that his father, an Airforce combat pilot, was stationed there. After some time, they transferred to Sangley Point Naval Airbase, Cavite City in Luzon,Philippines. Upon resignation of his father from the airforce, their family settled in the nearby town of Kawit, Cavite – the Revolutionary Capital of the Philippines.

Secondary education.
Carlo Balicas studied Kinder up to Grade 6 in St. Mary Magdalene School in Kawit, Cavite. This was the time where he first played (read: borrowed) a monochrome Gameboy from his classmate during P.E. time. He has fond memories of the foods being served there during lunch and merienda; Pinoy style spaghetti, Palabok, Halo-halo and Saging na Saba (banana over crushed ice topped with syrup, condensed milk and sugar). He finished Elementary in 2000 with honors (5th Honorable Mention).

Carlo Balicas finished his Highschool education in San Sebastian College-Recoletos de Cavite in Cavite City, Philippines in 2004. He was included in the Second Section during First year, but later on, was included to the First section from 2nd year up to 4th year. He was a member of SebcomTech (Sebastinian Computers Technology Club) and the Sebastinian Sports Club.

Tertiary education.
In 2004, Carlo entered college in De La Salle University – Dasmarinas, Cavite taking up Bachelor of Arts, Major in Political Science. Carlo was a Dean’s Lister from First Year up to Fourth Year(during Second Semester from 1st year to 3rd year, and during First Semester on his 4th Year). During this time, He met a wide array of friends stretching from different colleges/ courses. During these years, Carlo also met a lot of personalities in the world of Philippine Politics and Pinoy Music scene, like renowned Sociologist Randolf David, Rep. “Chiz” Escudero, Atty. Lorna Kapunan, Former Cavite Rep. Gilbert Remulla, Noel Cabangon, Chilitees, Radioactive Sago Project, Champ of Hale, among others. He was the President of the University’s only accredited co-curricular organization in the University’s College of Liberal Arts, the DLSU-D Pre-Law Society (S.Y. 2007-2008), appointed Council Magistrate(Justice, so to speak) of the DLSU-D Political Science Program Council S.Y.2007-2008 which is considered as the Judicial branch of the Program Council responsible for checking the constitutionality of issues more particularly of electoral issues as well as program issues.

He graduated college on 2008 with a degree in Bachelor of Arts, Major in Political Science. The Graduation rites were held in the Plenary Hall of PICC in Pasay city, Philippines.

During his college years, his blogging endeavors were limited only to his Friendster and Multiply account.

Present.
At present, Carlo is an upcoming Junior law student taking his Bachelor of Laws in San Beda College – Manila in Mendiola, City of Manila. Despite having reached this far in his academic life, he is still unsure if he’ll pursue and finish his law studies or leave it temporarily and find a job.

Likes and Dislikes.
Carlo loves computers. But because of the hectic schedule of law school, he spend less time in front of the computer. He also loves music. Carlo had a brief stint as a lead guitarist with his college friends’ unnamed band. He can play drums, guitars and bass. Currently, he misses playing with the band, as they have not played music together for a year now. His musical influences are Coldplay, Oasis, Dashboard Confessionals, Binoculars, Hale, Typecast, Arctic Monkeys, Up Dharma Down, Bloc Party, Pedicab, The Fray, Keane,  just to name a few. He loves alternative and rock music, but sometimes delves in on some techno (Beach House comes to mind) and rap (Black Eyed Peas) to fill in the gaps.

He loves the colors red, white, blue, and green (due to his Lasallian affiliation). He loves to play videogames and arcade games (like Initial D), surf the net, stroll at the mall, read the daily newspaper, and blogging. Blogging to him serves as an outlet of his likes and feelings. He also loves to mingle with his friends and go out with them. He enjoys talking to them over a tumbler of starbucks coffee or ice-cold Red Horse Beer.

He and his girlfriend are also dreaming/planning on having a “European Tour”, spanning different European tourist destinations with two objectives in mind – take a bite of each European country’s specialty food and bring back a souvenir from each European country.
