Kobe Bryant’s Marriage ends with Divorce.

As if the NBA Lockout wasn’t enough, Kobe Bryant will be experiencing one lonely Christmas day as his wife, Vanessa, files for divorce, officially ending their 10 1/2 years of marriage.

Vanessa Bryant, filed the divorce on the ground of “irreconcilable differences“. According to TMZ (through Yahoo!), Vanessa filed the divorce papers because of an alleged “unfaithfulness” of Kobe, yet again.

Kobe however did not say anything to the press regarding the divorce.

According to TMZ.com;

Vanessa Bryant filed legal docs Friday afternoon, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

Sources connected with the couple tell TMZ … Vanessa — who stuck by Kobe after he was charged with sexually assaulting a Colorado woman in 2003 — decided to end the marriage because she believes Kobe has been unfaithful … again.

As one source puts it, “She’s been dealing with these incidents for a long time and has been a faithful wife, but she’s finally had enough,” adding, “This one is the straw that broke the camel’s back.” And our sources say … Kobe “desperately” wants to win Vanessa back and will do “whatever it takes” to save their 10 1/2 year marriage.

According to the legal docs, Vanessa is asking for joint custody of their 2 daughters — 8-year-old Natalia and 5-year-old Giana — but Vanessa is asking that Kobe get visitation rights, which means she wants the kids in her care most of the time.

Although Kobe did not give any statement regarding the divorce, fellow player Pau Gasol was also asked by reporters regarding the divorce. Check out his interview regarding Kobe Bryant’s divorce below:

To hardcore NBA fans, Blake Griffin became known because of his amazing dunks he made in the NBA Dunk Contest. His basketball finesse even made him Rookie of the Year (2011).

But recently, the blogosphere is not blogging about Blake Griffin’s basketball accomplishment. There’s this video circulating in the internet regarding Blake Griffin’s half-court shot – while he’s sitting down.

Well it seems like Blake Griffin has it again. And now that the NBA Lockout is over, we might expect a lot more “sitting-down” shots from this very talented player in the near future.

For boxing fans, playing a boxing game on their favorite console is something not out of the ordinary. Who wouldn’t want to see a “simulated” Pacquiao vs. Mayweather Jr. bout on their living room, right? But for boxing hardcore fans out there, you better check this game by Karkaddan games titled “Pound for Pound“.

Who’s the main character in this game you asked? Well, it’s just Manny Pacquiao.

Yes you heard it right, Manny Pacquiao in his OWN video game. In Pound for Pound, Manny Pacquiao is portrayed as a martial arts action hero fighting against “corruption”. The game format is reminiscent of “Jackie Chan Stuntmaster” for the original Playstation, a fighting “beat-em-up” action game.

Dirk Nowitzki leads Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly; Pacquiao wins Best Fighter. Awards.

As if winning the 2011 NBA championships just recently wasn’t enough, Dirk Nowitzki lead the recently held 2011 Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards in Los Angeles, California.

The 2011 Excellence in Sports Performance Yearly Awards was held in Nokia Theater, in Los Angeles, California hosted by Seth Meyers for the second time.

ESPY Awards also also gives awards to the best team of the year. So which team won in the Best Team category you asked? Well, I think we all know which team won in that category (Yes, it’s the Dallas Mavericks).

Dirk Nowitzki on the other hand, received awards in the Best Male Athlete and Best NBA Player category.

Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle won the Best Coach/ Manager award. Blake Griffin, the 2011 NBA Rookie of the Year, won the Best Breakthrough Athlete award.

Heat vs. Mavs on NBA 2011 Finals!

And now it all comes down to this; after the qualifying and Semis comes the final set; Lebron “King” James‘ Heat squadron will get it down into the court with Dirk Nowitzki’s Mavericks squadron!

Judging from the past games, Heat is really packing the “heat” inside the court. The Bulls experienced this first hand when they lost to the Heat (83-85) where the Heat overtaken Bulls’ lead at the latter seconds of 4th quarter! And to think that the Bulls have court advantage, the Heat still came out unscathed! The Mavericks will surely face a strong opponent come Finals game.

The 2011 NBA Finals is scheduled to be played on May 31,2011, live in ABC. This game will be a Best-of-seven match-up. According to NBA.com, Game 1 will be played at Miami’s backyard; American Airlines Arena, Miami, Florida.

Pacquiao and Mosley Settles it in the Ring this May 8,2011.

The boxing match that is to be considered as the most anticipated boxing event of the year is set to start on May 8, 2011. Manny Pacquiao will go into the ring and fight Shane “Sugar” Mosley. Well, a lot of boxing fans thought that the “better” anticipated match of the year would have be between Pacquiao and Mayweather, but still, Mosley is still a competitive opponent worthy of Pacquiao’s punches (we mean that in a good, non-offending way ).

Personally, the Pacquiao vs. Mosley fight can be considered as a fight between two gentleman – more like a fight between two respected knights, in which their only goal is to knock their opponent not for the glitz and glam that accompany winning, but for the sake of showing his opponent (and to the audience) how a superb and professional boxing match should be done.

On their final Press Conference for their fans and reporters, there were no exchange of any trash talk between the fighters; in fact, the conference was made in a lighthearted fashion. Of course, both fighters want to knockout each other, but from the looks and flow of the conference, you could immediately see that both fighters are not exchanging garbage but more of “class” and “professionalism.

“There has not been trash talk for this fight, and I am happy for that. It sets a good example for the children who idolize fighters. In my life, this is the best promotion I’ve ever had (been involved in).

“I am looking forward to Saturday and making a good fight with Shane Mosley for the fans. I am definitely not taking this fight lightly and I am not underestimating Shane Mosley. Mosley has good hand- and foot-speed and he moves like he is 31 or 32.

Mavericks wins Game 1 against Trailblazers in 2011 NBA Playoffs.

Oh yes, the Mavericks. Mention that word and it always reminds me of Dirk Nowitzki. He’s that tall white guy we idolized back in high school not only because of his height but also because of his basketball skills. His 3-point shots are a killer, more so his electrifying dunks.

Now, Nowitzki proved that he still has that basketball skills as he lead the Mavericks to their crucial Game 1 win against the Portland Trailblazers!

The fourth quarter of the game may seem to be the most crucial quarter for Nowitzki. Nowitzki scored 18 of his 28 points in the fourth quarter. Nowitzki also scored 12 consecutive points and made all of his 13 free throws at the last quarter.

Nowitzki ended Portland’s leading score (72-70) when he made his two free throws 4:49 left on the clock.

According to Yahoo.com;

“Just really kept on plugging,” Nowitzki said. “I’ve got to keep going. The team told me to keep attacking and things will start happening.”

The game ended 81-89 in favor of Dallas Mavericks.

The ending score is still close, so the Mavericks shouldn’t be at ease even though their next game (Game 2) is scheduled to be played in Dallas this Tuesday. But with the Mavericks’ performance in Game 1, aside from the fact that they will have court advantage again, the Mavericks has a higher chance of winning again.

Chicago Bulls unveils Scottie Pippen’s Bronze Sculpture.

If you know Michael Jordan, the you definitely know who Scottie Pippen is. Scottie Pippen is well known as the “wingman” of Michael Jordan back in the day at the height of their basketball career. Scottie Pippen is seen as one who backs up the “airness” of Michael Jordan, sometimes giving the needed defensive play or that crucial assist to the basket.

On April 7, 2011, during the halftime of a heated basketball game between the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics (Chicago won by the way, 97-81), Chicago unveiled the sculpture of Pippen which will be displayed in the United Center for everyone to see.

Scottie Pippen’s career is a colorful one – being part of 6 NBA Championships that fueled his popularity at par with Michael Jordan himself. Scottie Pippen was later on traded to the Houston Rockets in 1998, but did not mesh in with the likes of Charles Barkley and Hakeem Olajuwon. He was then traded to the Portland Trailblazers but did not left a lasting or even a memorable performance for the Trailblazers.

Scottie Pippen retired after the 2003-2004 season.

Now, Pippen is mostly seen at the bench during Chicago Bulls games. Pippen is currently part of Chicago Bulls’ coaching team although only in ambassador capacity.

So what’s the difference between Jordan’s sculpture and Pippen’s? aside from the size and location, not much. Unfortunately, you have to pay a ticket in order to view Pippen’s sculpture. But what’s the point in paying for a couple of bucks if you can catch the “real deal” sitting on Chicago Bull’s bench, right?

Who doesn’t know Dennis Rodman? The guy with red hair (similar to Hanamichi Sakuragi of the popular Slam Dunk anime), numerous body tatoo and piercings who was popular back in the early 90’s is now being inducted in the Basketball Hall of Fame, including 10 other inductees.

In case you don’t know, the Basketball Hall of Fame recognizes players, coaches, and executives who have contributed to collegiate, professional, and international basketball. So yes, being recognized as a “Hall of Famer” is something really big.

Dennis Rodman won five NBA championships, two with Detroit Pistons, and three with Chicago Bulls. Rodman is remembered as the “greatest rebounder” in the NBA. Hmmm, now we all know where Hanamichi Sakuragi was patterned from. Rodman has the no.1 total rebounding percentage of all time.

His last stint with the Lakers and Mavericks back in 2000 was not that stellar. Steve Nash of the Mavericks even said that Rodman doesn’t want to be a Maverick. Well, he was on the road of retirement anyway, but it could have been better if he ended his NBA career with a nice record.

Nevertheless, being the No.1 Rebounder in the history of the NBA, Dennis Rodman deserves to be Hall of Famer as far as his rebounding performance is concerned.
