This I did not expect.

Facebook is actually having a movie this year, specifically this October. And of course, the premise of the whole movie itself is, yes, you guessed it right, Facebook.

Now, Friendster didn’t have a movie, as well as MySpace and Multiply. So what’s with Facebook that made itself worthy of having its own movie? Seriously?

As of now, the only hint that we can get about this movie is this short trailer of the Facebook Movie itself. Officially, the movie is entitled “The Social Network“.

If you like Justin Timberlake then you are in luck – he is also in the movie, although his role is not the Facebook creator Mark Zuckerberg.

Are you curious about this movie yourself? Will you watch it come October 2010?

Personally, I will have to see this movie to find out if the plot is anything worthy. But as of now, I think I will have to settle with Karate Kid and Toy Story 3 (which I haven’t watch yet, arg!).

Who would have thought that a simple “beer-out” will penetrate Apple’s impenetrable security.

An Apple employee, Gray Powell (picture on left), was hanging out in Gourmet Haus Staudt in Redwood City, California last March 18, 2010 drinking a couple of German beer there.

He overestimated the effect of  the German beer, and left his “IPhone 4G“, cleverly disguised as an IPhone 3Gs on the bar stool before leaving home.

After which, Gizmodo got hold of the suspected IPhone 4G device, and the rest is history (or at least, spread all over the internet).

According to Gizmodo.com,

The person who eventually ended up with the lost iPhone was sitting next to Powell. He was drinking with a friend too. He noticed Powell on the stool next to him but didn’t think twice about him at the time. Not until Powell had already left the bar, and a random really drunk guy—who’d been sitting on the other side of Powell—returned from the bathroom to his own stool.

The Random Really Drunk Guy pointed at the iPhone sitting on the stool, the precious prototype left by the young Apple engineer.

“Hey man, is that your iPhone?” asked Random Really Drunk Guy.

“Hmmm, what?” replied the person who ended up with the iPhone. “No, no, it isn’t mine.”

“Ooooh, I guess it’s your friend’s then,” referring to a friend who at the time was in the bathroom. “Here, take it,” said the Random Really Drunk Guy, handing it to him. “You don’t want to lose it.” After that, the Random Really Drunk Guy also left the bar.

The person who ended up with the iPhone asked around, but nobody claimed it. He thought about that young guy sitting next to him, so he and his friend stayed there for some time, waiting. Powell never came back.

During that time, he played with it. It seemed like a normal iPhone. “I thought it was just an iPhone 3GS,” he told me in a telephone interview. “It just looked like one. I tried the camera, but it crashed three times.” The iPhone didn’t seem to have any special features, just two bar codes stuck on its back: 8800601pex1 and N90_DVT_GE4X_0493. Next to the volume keys there was another sticker: iPhone SWE-L200221. Apart from that, just six pages of applications. One of them was Facebook. And there, on the Facebook screen, was the Apple engineer, Gray Powell.

IPhone 4G vs. IPhone 3G

According also to Gizmodo, the guy who ended up with the leaked IPhone, thought about returning it the next day, but was shocked that the IPhone was already dead – apparently, through MobileMe, the service Apple provide to track and wipe out lost IPhones. The guy then realized that the IPhone that is currently in his possession is something different. He successfully tinkered with it and managed to open the alleged IPhone 4G.

Weeks later, Gizmodo got it, and confirmed that the alleged IPhone 4G belongs to Powell. Gizmodo contacted Powell and the conversation went;

Gray Powell: Hello?

John Herrman (Gizmodo): Is this Gray?

G: Yeah.

J: Hi, this is John Herrman from Gizmodo.com.

G: Hey!

J: You work at Apple, right?

G: Um, I mean I can’t really talk too much right now.

J: I understand. We have a device, and we think that maybe you misplaced it at a bar, and we would like to give it back.

G: Yeah, I forwarded your email [asking him if it was his iPhone], someone should be contacting you.

J: OK.

G: Can I send this phone number along?

J: [Contact information]

Well, now that the alleged IPhone 4G is out for the world to see, what now? For sure, Mr. Powell will receive something bad from his employer, Apple. If he ends up being guilty of violating any regulations (product/trade secrecy/ confidentiality), he may be terminated by Apple.

But Gizmodo is appealing through their blog that Apple should “go easy” on the “kid” (Gary Powell).

Well it is an honest mistake. Anyone can make that mistake, even Steve Jobs himself. And come on, who are getting “surprised” with IPhones these days? IPad got us giddy-giddy, but I think no one were that surprised when the IPad was released, structurally speaking (it looks like a bloated IPhone anyway).

So Apple, Gizmodo is right, go easy on the kid. A week of hard labor will do (Nah, I’m just joking on the last part ).

Apple is refreshing its Macbook Pro lineup according to Appleinsider.com and the apple.com.

Macbooks are known for their performance, style, and not to mention, their super-duper high price! I don’t know what’s inside every Macbook that makes it very expensive (if you will look on it specifications, it also uses Intel chips and other medium-priced branded laptops out there can match Macbook’s performance) but buying will surely hurt any buyer’s pockets.

Anyway, here are the lowdown for the refreshed Macbook Pro 2010.

The new Macbook Pro will feature;

1.Intel Core i5 and i7 processors (up to 3.33 Ghz)

2.NVIDIA GeForce graphics processor.

3. 10 hours battery life.

4. 4 GB RAM.

Prices will depend on the model of MacBook Pro that you will be getting, the 13-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1199, the 15-inch MacBook Pro starts at $1799, and the 17-inch MacBook Pro starts at $2299.

Wow, the price is really steep.

Now, if you are planning to buy a MacBook Pro for yourself, consider first your “purpose” on buying one. Do you need a $1199 laptop that is mainly intended for surfing the internet or typing in documents? Maybe other cheaper models can fill you up if you’re only planning to use your laptop for surfing and typing reasons.

But if you intend to use it for photo-editing, music editing, or graphics editing “with style”, then go for a MacBook if you have enough money to spare. (But personally, I will still go for other laptop brands that can suit BOTH my needs and pocket ).

It seems like a lot of people are misspelling their queries in Goolge…oh I mean Google.

Yaho and Yaho.com are two keywords that are always incorrectly entered or typed in google.com. It’s either they want to know the meaning of the keyword Yaho and Yaho.com or they just literally mispelled it.

So what does yaho means? What does yaho.com is about?

Firstly, Yaho does not mean anything (as far as I am aware of that is ). Yaho is a clear mispelling Yahoo, presumably referring to another popular internet search engine, Yahoo.com.

Yaho.com is also a mispelling of the popular search engine Yahoo.com. However, if you type in Yaho.com in your browser, it will direct you to the main page of Yahoo.com. Maybe Yahoo knew that a lot of people might incorrectly type in their website and loose a lot of traffic from these people. I think this is a strategic move from Yahoo because other website makers might acquire the yaho.com domain and share in the traffic that Yahoo.com enjoys online. (And of course, a traffic-rich website is a very good website, financially speaking).

There’s really something interesting with the data given by Google Trends regarding the keyword Yaho.com; the Philippines got the second position for the region who most search for the said keyword! Are there that many Filipinos who “mistakenly” type the web address yahoo.com?

Interestingly, Google also imposes the same on the keyword “goolge” – when you type in goolge.com in your browser, it will also direct you to the main Google search engine. Now that’s interesting

I think this is the first time where a huge game maker/ developer made such a gaming event here in the Philippines. Most big time gaming events like these are held abroad, mostly in the United States and of course, in Japan, where Sony was born .

The Playstation Event will have the following activities:

2. Cosplay Battlefield.

3. Playstation Amazing Race.
