Where can you find a book that can provide you heavy-text articles and pictures with the ability to provide you 3D animated models within the said book? Of course, you won’t find this at your local library or book store. But with iBook 2, all of these are possible.

Apple recently unveiled iBook 2 at a press event held in Guggeinheim Museum at New York on Thursday January 19,2012. iBook 2, an appplication for Apple’s iPad, can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store online.

So what will you get when you download iBook 2 to your iPad?

iBook 2 allows you to read various ebooks, and more. If the ebook you downloaded has images on it (say, dinosaurs for example in case you downloaded a dinosaur-themed book), you’ll be able to see this images in 3D or with movement. You can even annotate the parts that you want to annotate. Got something that caught your attention at page 41? Add a sticky on it.

Apple said that it initially partnered with various textbook makers like, Pearson, McGraw Hill, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt among others. The cost of the ebooks that you can download? $14.99 or less. Compare that to your $80 dead-tree book.

If ever there’s a gadget that has “identity crisis” then maybe this would be it. Samsung has recently released another model for their Galaxy line of phones, the Samsung Galaxy Note.

The Samsung Galaxy Note is a 5.3 inch mobile smartphone powered by a dual-core 1.4GHz processor. It can also be operated through the use of an S Pen Stylus. So technically, its a tablet too, but not quite.

The Samsung Galaxy Note’s specs is pretty impressive nevertheless, it even has the rudimentary FM Radio (which we believe is a rather simple necessity, and not simply to be considered as an “extra feature”) ;

And the resulting “Cougatti” is definitely a car to astonish – it certainly was a close replica of the original fast road-legal car!

The Cougatti not only resembled the original Bugatti on the outside, it also has the same luxurious leather inside. Talk about ingenuity. And to think that this is done by a 25 year old man single handedly, you could just imagine what he can do with car modifications.

Mike Diff, the owner and maker of this Cougatti, said that it took him 9 months to complete the modifications. he used fiber glass and composite materials to create the Bugatti Veyron’s lines and design. A few professional paint here and buffing there and voila, the Cougatti was born. Total price? $89, 000 - less than 1/10 of the price of the original Bugatti Veyron.

The only difference is that the Cougatti has the original engine of the Cougar – a 2.5 liter V6 engine that produces 170 HP, a stark contrast to the original Bugatti’s engine – a 8-liter 16cylinder engine that produces 1,000 HP!

Now comes the latest chapter in the Sims franchise and that is Sims 3: Generations.

So what are the new features that Sim 3:Generations offer this time?

Well first of all, this post is referring to the Sim 3: Generations expansion pack. So with that, it means you have to own first the original Sim 3 game before you can pick this up and install it in your computer.

With Sim 3: Generations, players are given the freedom to do whatever they want throughout their “generations” (read:from childhood to adulthood to, well “golden years” ). When you’re a kid, you can pull pranks on others; when you’re in your teens you can go or host rage parties and when you get married, engaging in extra-marital affairs will give you a starring role in the rumor mill!

You can also “video record” (the sims themselves will do the recording of course) your sims as you go along your sim life and build a scrapbook. The scrapbook can then be posted in Facebook for everyone to see! Talk about interactivity.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare brings first person shooting on a whole new perspective. The Call of Duty series is known to immerse its players on the shooting action of the Second World War. But in Modern Warfare, players are given the chance to play the game in a more modern way (read – 21st century setting and weapons).

Personally, I enjoyed playing COD: Modern Warfare 2, especially the multiplayer mode. So just imagine my interest when I found out that Modern Warfare 3 is already in the works.

And to add to the already good news, Activision already released teasers for the COD: Modern Warfare 3.

But unfortunately, there’s no gameplay sample on the said teasers; you’ll only see rendering of New York, London, Paris, and Berlin. Not much, actually, although you’re already given clues on where the action of Modern Warfare 3 will take place.

Howard Stringer, CEO of Sony Corporation, recently released a statement regarding the situation of Playstation Network (in which it’s still down due to a hacking incident).  In the statement, Stringer informed their Playstation Network users that no credit card and personal information has been compromised or misused as of their findings, and that the said Network will be up and running in a few days.

I know this has been a frustrating time for all of you.

Let me assure you that the resources of this company have been focused on investigating the entire nature and impact of the cyber-attack we’ve all experienced and on fixing it. As a company we — and I — apologize for the inconvenience and concern caused by this attack. Under the leadership of Kazuo Hirai, we have teams working around the clock and around the world to restore your access to those services as quickly, and as safely, as possible.

I know some believe we should have notified our customers earlier than we did. It’s a fair question. As soon as we discovered the potential scope of the intrusion, we shut down the PlayStation Network and Qriocity services and hired some of the best technical experts in the field to determine what happened. I wish we could have gotten the answers we needed sooner, but forensic analysis is a complex, time-consuming process. Hackers, after all, do their best to cover their tracks, and it took some time for our experts to find those tracks and begin to identify what personal information had — or had not — been taken.

As a result of what we discovered we notified you of the breach. Our investigation is ongoing, and we are upgrading our security so that if attacks like this happen again, our defenses will be even stronger.

Playstation Network users around the world were “interrupted” again with their online gaming experience when the Playstation Network itself was hacked a few days ago. Issues of misuse of credit card and personal information of Playstation Network users by the unidentified hacker quickly loomed around the internet. The network hasn’t been online until now.

But good thing that Sony takes their business and customers seriously. Sony, through Hoard Stringer, the Chairman, Chief Executive Officer and President, of Sony Corporation, released a statement regarding the situation.

According to Stringer, there hasn’t been any confirmed evidence that credit card and personal information was misused in the hacking process. Sony went on to give a “Welcome Back” package to their customers when the Playstation Network finally comes online.

As we have announced, we will be offering a “Welcome Back” package to our customers once our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services are up and running. Now Youtube just got Delicious.

Nope, I didn’t mean Youtube is into food business or is offering free food. For those computer users familiar with the internet, Delicious is a famous social bookmarking website.

The popular bookmarking website was purchased by Youtube founders, Chad Hurley and Steve Chen.

Wait a minute, didn’t Google acquire Youtube and Feedburner back in 2006-2007? Looks like the big G is just getting bigger and bigger.

Delicious will be acquired and placed under Hurley and Chen’s new company Avos. The acquisition will bring new internet experience to both Youtube and Delicious users.

Delicious, which is formerly owned by Yahoo!, was allegedly sold to Youtube for around $1 million, but that was just a rumor. There’s no official figures yet shown by Youtube or Delicious, so we will have to wait for that.

Delicious has pioneered social networking and content sharing services since 2003.

“We’re excited to work with this fantastic community and take Delicious to the next level,” AVOS CEO Chad Hurley said on a blog post at AVOS.

“We see a tremendous opportunity to simplify the way users save and share content they discover anywhere on the web.” Hurley added.

First, Feedburner; then Youtube, and now, Delicious. Which company would be next on Google’s buying list?
