There are a lot of browser apps Android users can choose from and download in Play Store (the former Android Market.) The good thing with this is that android users are given numerous choices in choosing their browser based on performance or style. The only bad thing with this is the “choosing part”.

Below are six of numerous browsers available at Play Store for free. This list will help you (based on user experience) on choosing the right browser for your android smarthphone.

First, let us tackle the “not so popular” browsers before we take on the popular apps.

iBrowser – Not an iPhone-to-Android browser.
Pros:
Thd first thing that you’ll notice with iBrowser is its clean interface. Menus are fast and the design of the whole browser is nice in the eyes. Browsing for mobile websites of Facebook and Yahoo! is good too, although we experienced a few hiccups here and there.

Cons:
Unfortunately, the iBrowser struggles when desktop versions of Facebook, Yahoo!, and Youtube is opened. If your Android smartphone is a fast one (1ghz and above), then you might not experience the sluggishness of the app. Scrolling is slow, although tolerable. It consumes considerable amount of ram too, around 30mb on average and cpu usage of 30-70%.
All in all, iBrowser is a good browser, but if you intend on browsing desktop versions of websites, you might want to look somewhere else.

UC Browser.
Pros:
What we really like about UC browser is its graphic interface – it’s well designed and clean. The menus are easy to use and are placed strategically to not interfere with your browsing experience. This is good especialy when you want to click that certain link, only to accidentally touch the browser’s menu (common with Dolphin browser and iBrowser). Pages both mobile and desktop sites load fast compared to iBrowser. UC browser also allows you to optimize pages to minimize your data fees. This is a godsend especially when you’re on the go and need that internet browsing fix.

Cons:
Well, the only downside with UC browser is that it consumes around 50mb ram on average. Moreover, it doesn’t let you adjust your browser’s “user agent” (Mobile or Desktop view). This can be a little annoying especially if you prefer browsing the net in desktop view. Also , there is no tabbed browsing in UC Browser.

Skyfire.
Pros. What’s nice with Skyfire is that it analyzes your viewed website for videos and allows you to view it in an optimized format for your smartphone. This is helpful when your phone doesn’t support the video format in a certain website. Skyfire is quite popular to those users whose phone are not flash supported.

Cons:
No tabbed browsing. First thing that you’ll notice with Skyfire is that its design haven’t quite changed a bit since its first release. Moreover, it seems like Skyfire is slow in loading desktop websites of Facebook, and Youtube. Surprisingly, scrolling is faster with UC and iBrowser compared to Skyfire. If you always browse video-heavy sites, then Skyfire is for you.

Dolphin Browser.
Pros:
Dolphin browser has all the features available to the the 3 browser above. It loads both mobile and desktop websites quite fast although you’ll experience a few hiccups here and there, it’s something that is quite tolerable. What’s cool with Dolphin is that it alows you to enter commands through touch gestures. This is an extra really, as you can enter such commands manually if you wish. Dolphin is stable too.

Cons:
Dolphin is good looking, but its looks can sometimes be annoying. Like for example, the gesture icon can block certain links of your currently opened site. Good thing that pinch zooming with Dolphin is fast, but nevertheless, still annoying to say the least.

Puffin Browser.
Pros:
What you will first notice with Puffin is that its very fast in opening both mobile and desktop websites. It also have Flash built in the browser so Android users with phones that do not have Flash can play such on the browser itself. The interface is clean and pretty straight forward.

Cons:
Unfortunately, the Flash player of Puffin is pretty slow. Installing a custom rom might solve this problem however. It doesn’t have tab browsing too, something that is pretty standard feature on modern Android browsers.

Opera Browser.
Pros:
Opera browser has been around for years. I remember using Opera in my Sony Ericsson K800i so you are assured that it’s a stable and dependable browser. It features speed dial icons of your saved sites, which allows you to go to your favorite websites immediately. Opera load sites quite fast too, as it also optimizes sites for mobile browsing.

Cons:
You have to admit that Opera looks outdated. It looks almost the same as it was back in its Java version. But of course, that is only the looks (what’s important is its performance right?) .

Which browser is good for you?
This will depend on your personal preference really. Personally, UC Browser and Puffin Browser are at the top of our list, then Dolphin, Skyfire, Opera and iBrowser in that order. If your Android phone does not support flash and would like to watch flash videos online, then go for Puffin or Skyfire browser. If you want fast browsing then go for UC or Dolphin or even Opera. The best way to find which browser fits your style is to try them all out first then feel each browser based on your preference or needs. Besides, all of these are free on Play Store.

James Harden of OKC got a piece of the “cheap” one from Metta World Peace (Ron Artest). Aside from the fact that the cheap shot that Metta World Peace gave to Harden was uncalled for, the “purpose” of such blow cannot be ascertained based on the circumstances at that time. The blow was done during the second half of the game – not even during clutch-time in the 4th quarter.

Of course, Metta World Peace was ejected in the game immediately after the said incident. Metta World Peace may be suspended for several games, depending on the gravity of the Harden’s injury. Harden failed to return to the said game after the incident, according to Yahoo! Sports News.
